A CANADIAN THEMED NEW YEAR’S EVE

Join the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum & Heritage Centre as it celebrates New Year’s Eve 2020.

The event runs from 5:00pm -7:00pm on December 31st with live performances courtesy Stef Paquette, Johnny Williams and JoPo. The evening will conclude with a live streaming of a fireworks display courtesy of Dream Catcher Fireworks.

Stef hails from Chelmsford, Ontario. He is a former improv champion and a member of the professional improv group Improtéine. He has won a 40 Under 40 award, and a Mérite Horace-Viau award as Francophone Personality of the Year. Stef is best known as a singer-songwriter.

His musical career is peppered with top prizes in industry showcases, such as Ontario’s La Brunante and Québec’s Festival en chanson de St-Ambroise (the first Franco-Ontarian to win at that festival) and Festival international de la chanson de Granby, where he won four awards, including Press Gallery’s Choice and Best Stage Presence. In 2005, his album L’homme exponentiel was named Best Album at the Trille Or gala, where he also won the Best Song award for its title track, Homme exponentiel. In 2013, he again won the Best Album award for Le salut de l’arrière-pays and this album also won the Best Album Cover award.

In 2005, Stef was chosen to represent Canada at the Musique sans frontiers Festival in Cairo, Egypt. During this trip, he also performed at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and in Beirut, Lebanon.

In 2008, he was chosen to represent Ontario in the Francoforce project, a cross-Canada tour celebrating the 400th anniversary of the founding of Quebec City. Stef took on the role of mentor in the Ontario Pop 2011 contest and he was invited on stage to take part in the last concert of the group CANO, broadcasted by TFO on September 25th 2011. These days, you can see Stef on TVO as he plays the part of Charlie Rivière in the TV drama Hard Rock Medical.

On September 15, 2017, JoPo released her new album “Another Trip Around the Sun” which was recorded at the legendary House of Blues Studios & Ocean Way Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. The album was produced by Juno Award Winning Musician, Crystal Shawanda. Her first album “JoPo Acoustic – The RiZe released in 2013, inked a licensing deal with Hallmark for use of three of songs and appearance in one of their movies. JoPo formed the The RiZe, to support the album and went on the record and release “Miners Town” with the band in 2015. The single was engineered and mixed by Billy Bruhmuller and mastered by Ron Skinner (Shania Twain, Sheepdogs and Elliot Brood) and is available for download on iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon, CD Baby and Spotify. JoPo also recently appeared in the Canadian Award Winning Crave TV Comedy Series, Letterkenny.

Johnny Williams is an acoustic singer -songwriter who lives to play live. One thing he has learned through his musical journey is “its easy to get up in the morning when you are living the dream.” For 32 years he has been able to see the world as a musician. He worked with Terra Cain and has toured across Canada and the United States opening up for bands such as Def Leppard, Tea Party, Big Wreck, Aldo Nova, Big Sugar and 54-40. Johnny Williams now plays solo acoustic shows in local restaurants and pubs and house parties. He has an outlaw country sound with a hint of rocking blues vocals. He is also working on a new album.
